Ate Lunch

Maaan, this was a fun shoot.  Red Apple Market in Mountain View was kind enough to let us take over for a bit.  I got such a rush getting this all into place and seeing my ideas become reality.  I was creative director here, with Alejandro Barragan clicking away, Geneva from Intuitions doing hair and makeup, and Lisa who used to tend bar at Bernie’s doing the styling.  All are AWESOME to work with; Lisa was so amazingly prepared and on it.

You must realize, this is in Anchorage, back in ’05.  There were no fashion shows back then, besides what I was doing with Halo and Lulu E Bebe’s shows.  Shoppers were crowded into the aisles a bit, whispering ‘ooooo, look at the models.’  I used some of the images from this shoot for ads, and businesses kept them up for a year in some cases.  Love it!!

I’ve included some images that haven’t been seen before.  I’ll get the models names on here soon, they were great and professional.  Dzag (I think I misspelled there), with the long dark hair, ate the camera up!

About Benjamin Allen Ellis

Some phoenix mythologies talk of the soul's hierarchy in terms of birds. The eagle being our pinnacle, the phoenix right below, constantly burning and dying and rebirthing in order to find itself born eagle. Since 2000, and my first public art show, I've used the Phoenix as a rallying cry for myself to take hold of what I want and keep 'rebirthing' until I get it. After eight years, it was time to consciously move on up. Hey - I'm goin' eagle.
