People would ask what the shirt was about, and I’d say it was my band’s name. Then they’d say “Oh, you’re in a band?“
And I’d say, “Well, not yet. Got the name though.“
We’ll call that one ‘blow up.’ And since I only had one pair of board shorts to slice and dice in order to patch on the random American Apparel shirt I found, it’s just a one-time explosion. I love this shirt though.
That’s the thing. With an eye toward commerce, what’s a designer/artist to do? One off shirts aren’t necessarily the best way to go, but are definitely fun, and I love recycling available materials to make something new. I think that is where we are headed in a lot of ways. I do have to make a living, and the dance right now is how do I do it with integrity and a social grace? Workin’ on it. Let ya know.
