I appreciate the patience of each person, and the trust. To open up and be naked takes some guts, cuz the finished work is ultimately not about someone’s bits, you know, but the keen beauty of form, color on skin, and making art of it all.

Some phoenix mythologies talk of the soul's hierarchy in terms of birds. The eagle being our pinnacle, the phoenix right below, constantly burning and dying and rebirthing in order to find itself born eagle.
Since 2000, and my first public art show, I've used the Phoenix as a rallying cry for myself to take hold of what I want and keep 'rebirthing' until I get it. After eight years, it was time to consciously move on up. Hey - I'm goin' eagle.
