A Show, A Show…

A call at 9:30 am on Saturday and and within an hour I had my first solo Bay Area art show lined up… starting… the day before.  And on until the end of August.

Fortune shines on those who act, I read recently, so act I did; that Saturday took me to Berkeley, San Leandro, Oakland, SF, Alameda, back to Oakland, back to SF (this time Daly City) then back to Alameda to catch a little flick called Bruno (funny).  The meantime of the day was all about arranging to pick up whatever art I could in the Bay Area (hence the driving back and forth and such).

The show I’m building is at Javarama in Alameda; great coffee, great space, great town.  Alameda has a flavour all its own, Park Avenue has a charm that covers a lot of bases, from fancy linens to antiques to comics to amazing waffles.  It’s the spot.

And Javarama is right there on Park Ave, so get some coffee or tea or yummy cake.  The show will officially be on the beginning of August, the coming weeks until then will find me bringing together works that are currently shown elsewhere or have yet to premiere.  Works from the Sketchy Canvas series will be included too.

So check it, and hang out!

About Benjamin Allen Ellis

Some phoenix mythologies talk of the soul's hierarchy in terms of birds. The eagle being our pinnacle, the phoenix right below, constantly burning and dying and rebirthing in order to find itself born eagle. Since 2000, and my first public art show, I've used the Phoenix as a rallying cry for myself to take hold of what I want and keep 'rebirthing' until I get it. After eight years, it was time to consciously move on up. Hey - I'm goin' eagle.
